Pure Water Window Cleaning: Why It Beats Traditional Methods

What pure water technology actually is, why it leaves a better finish, and why we use it on every job.

If you have had your windows cleaned in the last few years, there is a good chance the cleaner used a long pole with a brush rather than a bucket and squeegee. That is pure water technology — and it produces measurably better results. Here is how it works and why we use it on every single job.

What is pure water?

Tap water contains dissolved minerals — calcium, magnesium, and other trace elements. When tap water dries on glass, those minerals are left behind as white spots and streaks. This is why windows cleaned with traditional tap water often look patchy once they dry.

Pure water has been passed through a series of filters — typically sediment filters, carbon filters, and a de-ionising resin — that remove all dissolved minerals. When pure water dries on glass, it leaves absolutely nothing behind. The result is a perfectly clear, spot-free finish.

The reach-and-wash system

Pure water window cleaning uses a carbon fibre or aluminium pole with a soft-bristled brush head connected to a supply of pure water. The cleaner agitates the glass surface with the brush, loosening all dirt and grime, then rinses the glass with a final flush of pure water. The water drains away naturally, carrying all the soiling with it.

Because the pole can extend to significant heights, upper-floor windows can be cleaned safely from the ground — no ladders required.

Why it is better than traditional cleaning

Traditional bucket-and-squeegee cleaning can produce excellent results in skilled hands, but it has real limitations. It requires ladder access for upper floors, the squeegee technique must be perfect to avoid streaks, and windows often need re-wiping. The results also deteriorate faster because tap water residue left on the glass acts as a magnet for new dirt.

Pure water windows are genuinely cleaner for longer because there is no residue for new dirt to bond to.

When pure water is used
